As a Forward Deployed Data Engineer at Beyond Data Consulting, you will be embedded within our client's teams, playing a critical role in designing, building, and maintaining robust and scalable data pipelines. You'll be at the forefront of solving complex data challenges, driving innovation, and delivering impactful solutions that directly contribute to our client's success.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Airflow on Kubernetes within a GCP environment.
- Implement infrastructure as code (IaC) using Terraform to provision and manage GCP resources.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate the deployment of data engineering solutions.
- Develop Python-based data processing jobs to extract, transform, and load data into Snowflake.
- Design and implement REST APIs to expose data and functionality to other applications.
- Monitor and troubleshoot data pipeline performance, ensuring data quality and reliability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
Requirements
- Senior-level experience in Data Engineering.
- Proficiency in GCP, Terraform, CI/CD, Python, Snowflake, Airflow, Kubernetes, and REST APIs.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Experience working in an agile development environment.
- Solid understanding of data modeling principles and database design.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
Nice to Have
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Looker).
- Familiarity with data governance and security best practices.
- GCP certifications (e.g., Professional Data Engineer).
- Experience with other cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).
